Personal Care
Where nursing skills are not required, assistance with showering or bathing, dressing and grooming is available to frail aged people and people with disabilities who are unable to do these tasks safely by themselves.
Respite Care
Respite services support the caring relationship by providing the carers of frail older people and people with a disability with a break from their caring responsibilities.
Meals On Wheels
Meals On Wheels is designed to assist people to remain living at home by providing nutritionally balanced meals up to seven days a week, 365 days a year. Most special dietary needs can be met, and food is cooked fresh daily. Meals are delivered from 11.15am daily. The cost and quantity of meals can be discussed by contacting the food services co-ordinator on (02) 6022 9620.
Property modifications
Safety in the home is the focus of this service which involves installation of rails, ramps and other minor modifications as recommended by an occupational therapist. Plumbing and electrical work is not part of this service.
Planned Activity Group
These programs provide company, friendship and social activities outside the home for frail aged people and adults with disabilities. They also provide respite for carers. Activities are many and varied, including outings, games, craft, exercises (mental and physical) and guest speakers.
Friendly visiting service
This service enables lonely or socially isolated, frail aged and younger persons with a disability to enjoy a regular visit from a volunteer visitor. Friendly visitors are carefully matched to ensure compatibility, companionship and the growth of genuine friendship.
How to apply for services:
Referral
Family and other service providers can refer people or people can refer themselves. A doctor's referral is not required.
Assessment
Service delivery is subject to an assessment. The assessment is conducted at the client's home. A family member or other support person is encouraged to attend the assessment. Aged services also act as a referral agency for other services, subject to client consent. City of Wodonga's aged services is also the assessment agency for Veterans Home Care.
Priority
Services are provided according to resources and are directed to those who are assessed as being most at need. Eligibility for service does not guarantee the service will be available. After referral has been received, you will be contacted to discuss eligibility and or arrangement for an assessment, or referral to another agency - subject to clients consent.
Review
Service is reviewed regularly. Fees for services will be negotiated at time of assessment or review.
