Preschool applications are accepted throughout the year with the allocation process for the following year commencing in August. Applications need to be lodged at council by July 31 in the year prior to commencing preschool.
First round offers for preschool places, based on applications received by July 31 are notified by August 31 in the year prior to attendance. Parents are given three weeks to accept their offer with payment of a deposit. Following acceptance of first round offers, second round offers for any remaining places are made.
- Children with a Health Care Card are exempt from fees and a deposit if they are offered a place in four-year-old preschool.
- All three-year-old preschool offers require a deposit and fees apply regardless of health care card status.

2012 preschool terms
Term one:
February 6 to March 30, 2012. Interview days will be held on February 2 and 3, 2012Term two:

Three-year-old preschool fees:
$150 per term ($600 per year)Four-year-old preschool fees:
$203 per term ($812 per year)Please note: Parents eligible to pay fees who are sending their child to both council preschool and long day care services and elect to send the government funding to the long day care service will be charged full fees for four year old preschool.
Full fees are: $2808
Deposits
If parents are required to pay fees, a deposit is needed at the time of the preschool offer to confirm their position.
Three-year-old: $40
Four-year-old: $60
The deposit is deducted from the term four fees. It will be refunded if a child no longer requires the position taking into account any outstanding fees. If children are exempt from paying fees no deposit is required to confirm their position.
Fee exempt:
Families exempt from preschool fees will be required to confirm this on their application form. Once an offer of a place is made, there is only a requirement to return the acceptance form, there is no requirement to pay any deposit or fee.

Payment due: October 5, 2012
