Excavations in road reserves


Wodonga Council needs to be notified of all road openings.  Examples of excavating in road reserves are:

  • Installation of irrigation systems
  • Connection to underground drainage, or other utility services
  • Construction of driveways

This can be done either through using the Dial Before You Dig service on 1100 or by contacting the council's asset management unit on (02) 6022 9251.

Definition of road opening 

A road opening is any hole or trench excavated within a road reserve.

The road reserve includes the road, nature strip, and footpath.
