Cities for Climate Protection Program - Greenhouse Action Plan

Wodonga Council is a member of the Cities for Climate Protection (CCP™) program - an international program to assist councils to reduce greenhouse emissions.  We have developed a Greenhouse Action Plan and are committed to an active program that aims to achieve tangible reductions in corporate and community greenhouse gas emissions.  Through the CCP program, the City of Wodonga has committed to reducing greenhouse gases from council operations by 10 per cent on year 2000 emissions levels by 2010 and 10 per cent on 1996 emission levels by 2010.

  • Continue to implement the City of Wodonga Greenhouse Action Plan - if you wish to download the action plan, please click on the attachment located at the bottom of this page.
  • Work with local residents and industries to reduce emissions across the City of Wodonga
  • Work with neighbouring councils via the North East Greenhouse Alliance to reduce emissions on a regional scale

These activities will provide environmental, social and economic benefits for the City of Wodonga, by reducing energy costs and greenhouse gas. By pursuing these programs council recognizes the importance of ‘leading by example'.
