Native vegetation fact sheets

Native Vegetation Fact Sheets

The Department of Sustainability and Environment has overnight loaded onto its website three new fact sheets on native vegetation:

1. Clearing of native vegetation to prepare for bushfires

2. Clearing of native vegetation affected by bushfires

3. Repair of fences damaged by bushfire or construction of control lines

These are on the native vegetation page of the DSE website at: http://www.dse.vic.gov.au/DSE/nrenlwm.nsf/LinkView/DCE0BF772C0E4BE9CA257127002006E049A37B2E66E4FD5E4A256DEA00250A3B

The fact sheets may assist councils to explain the native vegetation rules to community members wishing to make their property fire-ready or safe following a fire. The Department of Planning and Community Development is also preparing a guidance note for councils following a series of questions being raised on applying the new planning permit exemptions for bushfire recovery. This guidance will be forwarded when it's available.
