North East Regional Environment and Planning Forum


On Thursday, February 26, Wodonga Council hosted the North East Regional Environment and Planning Forum.

This was designed to promote local discussion and action on environmental and planning issues affecting the North East region.

The forum addressed the key topics of:

  • Future directions in regional environmental management and planning;
  • Planning and design issues;
  • Key environmental issues for local government; and,
  • Sustainable urban forms.

Key speakers included:

  • Mike Hill, Chairman of VLSAC
  • Dr Ian McPhail, Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability
  • Robert Moore, City of Melbourne;
  • Peter Annand, Australian Council for New Urbanism; and,
  • Dr Tony Richardson, Director of Treesmart Australia.
