Individuals can improve happiness, confidence, job satisfaction, physical health, healthy behavoirs such as increasing fruit and vegetable consumption that is often shared with family members resulting in healthy family meals.

Health checks of more than 300,000 Victorian workers carried out by WorkSafe Victoria's WorkHealth program identified:

  • Generally inadequate fruit and vegetable consumption and physical activity;
  • High blood pressure in one quarter of workers;
  • Increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease in almost half of workers; and
  • High risk of developing type 2 diabetes in nearly a quarter or workers.

The Healthy Workplace Achievement Program

Businesses trading in Victoria are encouraged to register for the Victorian Healthy Workplaces Achievement Program.

The Achievement Program aims to support and assist businesses to set up and establish employee health and wellbeing programs.
