Baranduda Fields Sporting Complex

The Baranduda Fields project is a major regional sporting complex planned for the Baranduda-Leneva Valley.

Set on 100ha of council-owned land, the facility will be the largest regional sporting precinct between Sydney and Melbourne.

The precinct will allow the city of Wodonga to showcase sport at a local, regional and state level, and will provide economic benefits from visitation of major sporting events.

It will also lead to improved physical and mental health for the community through greater participation in sport, and create opportunities for volunteering, social interaction and inclusion.

Extensive public consultation was carried out in 2013, including discussions with more than 25 community and sporting groups, and a study tour was conducted of relevant existing new sports facilities.

Wodonga Council secured $10 million in funding from the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications in March 2020.

The council will be adding a further $10 million in funding over the next three years from the capital works budget to deliver Stage 1 of the project.

Stage 1 will include the following.

The project is set to be completed by mid-2024.
